Over 50% of victims and survivors of violence and traumatic experiences in Somalia come from the vulnerable communities particularly the minorities and the marginalized, and many of these incidents go unreported or unaddressed because of fear of social stigma or reprisals by perpetrators. SASMO will endeavor to identify cases of violence and dehumanizing treatments that are subjected to these groups of people in a professional and confidential manner and refer survivors to pathways that support such survivors of violence. SASMO will seek support from like- minded protection groups to support SASMO to undertake mental health, psychosocial and trauma counseling services to the survivors of violence.
